In our traditional Bern bistro, we extend a warm welcome in an atmosphere devoted completely to hospitality. This is the place for those who appreciate true values while enjoying a certain je ne sais quoi.
The culinary philosophy of the Entrecôte Fédérale is based on our firm conviction that the perfect preparation of the essential satisfies all tastes. With this in mind, we deliberately focus on a small number of high quality delicacies from meat to fish. The house speciality «Entrecôte Café de Paris» is renowned far beyond the boundaries of Bern. The meat comes exclusively from a certified Swiss Natura label that has earned our trust: Suter Natura.
You and your family will always find a warm welcome at the Entrecôte Fédérale. This includes, of course, children’s chairs, toys and a separate cloakroom with nappy-changing table – almost like being at home.
The Entrecôte Fédérale has space for about 100 guests (ground and first floors), plus about 50 in the terrace area. We can serve groups of up to 24 persons separately in the Bundesrats-Sääli (Federal Council Room). We would be delighted to offer you, without obligation, a proposal for turning your gathering at the Entrecôte Fédérale into a wonderfully harmonious event.

HEAD OF SERVICE
The core of the building, together with the cage tower, was part of the second town’s second fortification from the 16th century. The striking front building of the entire Käfigturm-Bundesplatz group of houses acquired its present façade in 1740. In 1880, the Egger brewery in Worb bought the property and opened a restaurant. The well-known trompe-l’oeil windows facing the Bundeshaus have existed since the creation of the Bundesplatz and the construction of the parliament building in 1902.
In 1999, the old Café Fédéral was renamed Entrecôte Fédérale and has been run by the Uehlinger family and their dedicated team ever since.

This generously proportioned restaurant, furnished in the brasserie style typical of the 1930s, offers an easy-going atmosphere in the Bistro and a romantic ambience in the Sääli. And the garden with its ancient chestnut trees is a popular place to be in summer.
